1H-Pyrrole 2,5-Dione ,1-(1-Methylpropyl) - Introduction
N-isobutylmaleimide is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H15NO2. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a special odor.
N-isobutyl maleimide has good thermal and chemical stability. It has good solubility and is soluble in most organic solvents. N-isobutylmaleimide also has higher antioxidant properties and lower volatility.
In industry, N-isobutyl maleimide is mainly used as a reagent and catalyst for polymer chemical reactions. It can be used as a crosslinking agent, polymer compatibilizer, ink curing agent and additives in the field of coatings and adhesives. In addition, N-isobutylmaleimide can also be used in the field of dyes and medicine.
N-isobutylmaleimide is generally obtained by reacting isobutanol with maleic anhydride. The specific preparation method is as follows: isobutanol and maleic anhydride are mixed in a molar ratio of 1:1.1, a small amount of acid catalyst (such as sulfuric acid) is added, and the reaction is carried out at a relatively high temperature for several hours. After completion of the reaction, pure N-isobutylmaleimide was obtained by distillation purification.
For safety information, N-isobutylmaleimide is a low-toxicity compound, but it is still necessary to follow safe procedures. Appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, goggles and laboratory coats should be worn during operation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary. In addition, it should be stored in a closed container, away from high temperature, fire source and oxidizing agent.
